5-WEEK WORKSHOP

Learn in the comfort of your own home with your friends (Groups of 10 or more)

Book a 5-Week workshop with your friends in your home!  Rotate who hosts each week if you please! In a comfortable and fun environment, parents participate in activities designed to deepen an understanding of their children and what parenting techniques work with children and why. Concepts are taught in an interactive method to engage the brain to learn easily without lectures or note-taking. Parents will be able to get to the core of misbehavior. This course is for parents who are looking for long-term skills that will encourage their children to develop: Self-Discipline, Responsibility, Cooperation, Problem-Solving Skills, Feelings of Competence, Confidence, and Capability. Positive Discipline techniques are respectful & non-punitive and are based on both common sense & research. After each class, parents will have solutions to their specific issues. These tools will help to bring more peace & joy in the home.  This is an extremely powerful experience for parents through role-playing and group discussions.

PARENTING PARTY

Fun and learning with friends in your home.

This is a fun way to get an introduction to Positive Discipline.  You and your friends come together for an evening of fun and learning.  At the end of the evening you will have some tools to take home with you and parents can volunteer a specific issue they are having and recieve various solutions.

COUPLES PARENTING TRAINING

Couples getting on the same page and learning techniques to create a happy, healthier home.

This is a more individualized program with you and your parenting partner.  This is especially helpful for parents to get on the same page and learn techniques in order to create a happy, healthier home. In the process, you will learn about your parenting partner and how to communicate with one another better.

POSITIVE DISCIPLINE

Positive Discipline is a program for parents developed by Dr. Jane Nelsen. It is based on the work of Alfred Adler and Rudolf Dreikurs and designed to teach young people to become responsible, respectful and resourceful members of their communities. Positive Discipline teaches important social and life skills in a manner that is deeply respectful and encouraging for both children and adults.

Recent research tells us that children are hardwired from birth to connect with others, and that children who feel a sense of connection to their community, family, and school are less likely to misbehave. To be successful, contributing members of their community, children must learn necessary social and life skills.

FIVE CRITERIA FOR POSITIVE DISCIPLINE

  1. Is Kind and Firm at the same time. (Respectful and encouraging)

  2. Helps children feel a sense of Belonging and Significance. (Connection)

  3. Is Effective Long-Term. (Punishment works short term, but has negative long-term results.)

  4. Teaches valuable Social and Life Skills for good character. (Respect, concern for others, problem-solving, accountability, contribution, cooperation)

  5. Invites children to discover how Capable they are and to use their personal power in constructive ways.
